Origin and background of the character (Lore)
Inspired by the intergenerational universe created in Japan in 1974 by the Sekiguchi company, Monchhichi (historically known in France as Kiki) is a small creature of woodland origin who has spent much of his life pursuing a single goal: to spread happiness, love and finding a place in the hearts of families all over the world. Raised with respect and kindness, this little anthropomorphic monkey grows up amidst the challenges of his innocent daily life, learning to hide his little fears behind themed costumes — such as that sweet teddy bear onesie — to develop extraordinary strength of character in the face of children’s sorrows. Guided by his own moral values and an unwavering quest for comfort, he strives to accompany each generation through their moments of togetherness. This marks the beginning of a demanding yet reassuring presence across the ages, where this big-hearted companion uses his determination to navigate through the ages, becoming the indispensable cuddly toy that preserves balance and tenderness within the family.
