Narrative context and universe (Lore)
In the world of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tanjiro Kamado is the main protagonist of the series created by Koyoharu Gotōge. After finding his family slaughtered by the demon Muzan Kibutsuji and discovering that his sister Nezuko has been turned into a demon, he joins the Demon Slayer Corps with the aim of finding a cure for Nezuko and avenging his family.
Guided by a rare sense of empathy and unwavering determination, Tanjiro masters the Water Breathing technique before developing the Sun Breathing technique, an ancestral skill passed down through his family line. This figurine captures his iconic visual identity, featuring both the Demon Slayer Corps’ black uniform and the chequered haori inherited from his father – two central symbols of his journey throughout the series.
